The quarry
The quarry covers an area of 12 hectares.
The main advantage of our mine over other mining companies of Russia (Vorkuta, Novosibirsk, Urals, Orenburg, Krasnoyarsk region) - is its location. The quarry is located in the Plesetsk area of Arkhangelsk region on federal highways and rail lines, in 190 km from ice-free Arkhangelsk international seaport.
Extraction of basalt is using the most modern mining equipment. Application of the selected machinery allows mining the stone block all year round. The reserves of our field are about 20 million m3. In addition to planned volumes of basalt production, we are planning to mine under the order.
The basalt
Mountain massive is composed primarily of greenish-grey and dark-grey (almost black) basalts.

The low content of iron oxide allows the construction and finishing materials not to react with aggressive environmental factors.
Basaltic rocks from the field belong to the type of basalts with the highest levels of natural chemical and thermal resistance. Basalt resists corrosion; it is not susceptible to fluctuations of temperature.
While researching the massive we have performed determination of volume weight, water absorption, porosity, compression resistance and tensile strength.

Basalt from the field, unlike the other basalts, has the highest density, reaching 3500 kg/m3 which allow achievement of 9-10 purity grade of finish while processing. These basalts have excellent decorative properties. By virtue of its properties basalt is increasingly used in various industries and construction.
Particularly worth noting is the most important property of basalt, as its absolute environmental and radioactive safety.
Our basalts are ideal for the manufacture of any products using modern technologies in the world. To date there is no equivalent product of basalt on the physical properties, cost-effective production and an unlimited range of applications.
